Our colour story
It's no secret that we're colour lovers here at Mustard.
Colour is a huge part of our brand identity. We may be biased, but we love every colour we have produced! 2018.
The original line-up
Mustard Made was born with six original colours in the collection — Blush, Mustard, Olive, Navy, Slate and Chalk. It was the perfect capsule of colours and foundation for our brand.
Olive was the colour Becca had always envisioned when designing the lockers, Mustard was a must because of our name, and Blush seemed to fit in perfectly! Slate and Chalk were our essential neutrals, and then Navy came along to complete the original Mustard colour palette.
Blush
Blush is the perfect pastel pink with slight grey undertones, just understated enough that it can work in neutral spaces too, but enough of a pop to add a splash of colour to any room! Get your gradient on by pairing Blush with Berry and Chalk.
Mustard
Our namesake, our Mustard. A hot, spicy yellow bright enough to add a pop of colour to your room with a warm undertone. Mustard looks excellent with all our shades, but we especially love seeing it next to Blush.
Navy
Our Navy is somewhere between navy and royal blue. Not too dark, not too bold, we'd say she's just right. We love seeing Navy with Sage and Olive for a real nature-inspired vibe, or next to Berry for a fun, colourful look!
Olive
Olive is our classic earthy green. Fun fact, it was the colour Becca originally had in mind when starting Mustard Made! A dark green but not too deep, it is smooth and subtle and pairs perfectly with Sage and Blush.
Slate
Slate is the cool kid around here. It's a dark, smokey matte grey that fits perfectly into a muted, industrial setting. Pair it with Chalk for a classic monochrome look, or go bold with a combo of Slate, Mustard and Berry.
Chalk
Choose Chalk for that classic school locker vibe. We love to pair Chalk with our pastels for a dreamy feel, but she pretty much goes with anything! Our Chalk is not pure white but has slightly creamy, warm undertones for a softer and calmer feel.
2019.
New additions to the family
It's June 2019. We've found our business feet for the most part, and we're ready to add a new splash of colour to our rainbow. Now it was about finding the gaps — what would fit nicely with what we already had? That's when Berry and Ocean were born. It was nerve-wracking to introduce new colours into the rainbow, but we think you'll agree they fit into our line-up perfectly!
Berry
We love pink so much that one just wasn't enough. Berry is a deep pink, not too bright, but bold enough to make a statement. Think pretty flowers and summer fruit; that's Berry. She's a match made in heaven for Blush (obviously!) and makes a colourful statement with Navy.
Ocean
Ocean is a soft blue with slightly moody grey tones. It goes beautifully with Navy and Chalk for a coastal vibe or with Blush, Sage and Lilac for a fun pastel combo. Our Ocean blue is super versatile and works for all ages.
2020.
Hello Sage and Lilac
We don't need to talk about what a year 2020 was, but one good thing to come from it was Sage and Lilac. It took some work to get them here (factory delays, shipping delays, delayed samples), but when the new colours finally arrived, they quickly became a fan favourite!
Sage
One of our prettiest pastels, Sage, is an earthy pale green that adds subtle colour to a neutral palette. She complements our range perfectly! We love pairing Sage with Olive, Chalk, Ocean and Blush.
Lilac
Lilac is a dusky pale purple, a match made in heaven next to our other pastel shades. It pairs beautifully with all our colours, especially Blush, Sage and Ocean.
2022.
Hello Poppy
As soon as Poppy (Jess's daughter) was born back in August 2021, Becca knew that now was the time to introduce red into our rainbow and pay tribute to this little bundle of joy!
Poppy
Poppy is an iconic shade of red with a retro-inspired vibe. We've kept it super classic whilst finding the perfect tone to match the rest of our Mustard rainbow. She pairs perfectly with our pink tones, Blush and Berry or with our rich, saturated hues like Mustard, Navy and Olive.
2024.
We've got news to spread…
Almost two years since our last colour launch, we were itching to share what we'd been working on! It was time to meet the next generation of Mustard.
Butter
The Butter to our Mustard, our mellow yellow, this creamy, dreamy pastel was the perfect addition to our rainbow. Adding some sunshine to the lineup, Butter is warm and decadent. It's made for Mustard (obviously) but also looks perfect paired with Poppy for a red-hot surprise!
