Sarah Corbett-Winder's bold, colourful and eclectic London terrace home

Step inside Sarah Corbett-Winder's anything-but-ordinary London terrace, where colour, pattern and personality collide.

Sarah Corbett-Winder is a stylist, designer and self-confessed clothes and accessories addict. She's also a mum of three, and together with her husband Ned, they created an eclectic and colourful London terrace home, bursting with textures and patterns.

We had the chance to peek inside when we photographed our Glass Collection, and now we're taking you along for the ride. Sarah shows us the power of choosing what you love, not getting caught up in trends, and that there really are no rules for creating a home that feels like you. From vintage treasures to walls adorned with memories, every corner of this family home tells a story you won't want to miss.

Express yourself

Sarah has always worked at the intersection of fashion and interiors. A trained artist with a lifelong love of styling, she approaches both with the same philosophy: self-expression comes first. Whether curating an outfit or designing a room, Sarah believes in the joy of individuality. This carries through to her fashion label, Kipper, where she designs women's suits that combine elegance with personality.

While it's clear that Sarah has developed a strong sense of personal style, she says her London home was the first home that truly felt like a reflection of her family. The house initially underwent a significant renovation, but was constantly changing and adapting as the family grew. Sarah says she tried to avoid trends, listen to her gut and only choose things she truly loved.

A corner of a styled bedroom featuring striped red and white wallpapered walls and ceilings. There's a dark grey bedhead with a mixture of bedding in blues, whites, yellows and peach.

She says the home was almost like a museum dedicated to their family, filled with keepsakes and collectables that made it unmistakably theirs. The walls were not only adorned with an eclectic mix of art, but also souvenirs from family holidays, and even the kids' first pair of shoes. A collection of porcelain Staffordshire dogs sat proudly on the mantle, while vintage plates were displayed on the bathroom walls.

So how does such a vibrant mix of elements manage to work so well together? Sarah says her 'more is more' approach to styling is something that has developed over time and with practice, as she learned to push boundaries, break the rules and trust her instincts. She encourages us all to do the same!

"Do it with confidence. Embrace it and just do it. Many people say, "Yeah, but how do you know that that works?" It's because I know what works for me."

Colour confidence

Sarah's approach to styling is always an exercise in confidence with colour. From a library drenched in blue to punchy pops of red and even wallpapered ceilings in the master bedroom, each room was a joyful exploration of colour and personality. Sarah believes in the power of giving things a go, playing with unexpected combinations and creating spaces that tell a story, whether that be through vintage furniture pieces, artworks or other keepsakes.

"We're quite an expressive, creative family, but at the end of the day, the root and the bottom line of everything is joy."

Embracing the chaos

With three young children and a sausage dog named Margaret at home, Sarah says she has learned to embrace life's chaos without compromising on style. Large storage baskets, lockers (of course!), and a rule that everything is returned after use helped strike a balance between practicality and style. Even the children's bedrooms featured grown-up touches, such as beautiful art and carefully chosen florals.

Putting the fun in functional

Like us, Sarah considers storage to be more than just functional — it can also be beautiful. Naturally, Sarah's wardrobe is as colourful and fabulous as her home, so she has a dedicated wardrobe room where everything is visible, accessible and celebrated. Open shelving, double-height rails, and regularly sorting through her clothes allows her to keep items cherished and well-used rather than hidden away. Oh, how we'd love to spend a day in Sarah's wardrobe…

Tree change

The Corbett-Winder family recently traded city life for a move to a historic farmhouse in the Welsh countryside. Renovations are underway, with Sarah thoughtfully shaping the home room by room, using a mix of timeless pieces, colour and her signature playful touches. We can't wait to see the finished product!

From her bold use of colour to her fearless approach to decorating, Sarah shows us what it means to create spaces that truly reflect the people who live in them. Every detail tells a story — of family, memories and being unapologetically you.
